About The Jones's of Alfrick and the Pettifors of Bickenhill
The JONES FAMILY - BOOTMAKERS FROM ALFRICK Generations of the Jones family can be traced back to before 1600 in Alfrick and the surrounding villages in the part of Worcestershire lying near the Herefordshire border in the shadow of the Malvern Hills. The male line back as far as 1750 were all bootmakers by trade. Henry, born in 1815 was probably the most notable, having a flourishing business in Malvern Link which survived for more than 120 years.Henry was a teetotaller and vegetarian. Newsticker: January 2010 - more names added - total now exceeds 6000 The PETTIFOR FAMILY FROM BICKENHILL Prior to living in Worcester and Malvern, the Pettifors lived in Birmingham in the early 1900s after moving from rural Warwickshire. John (Jack) Pettifor learned his trade as a bricklayer in Bidford on Avon, before moving to Worcester and then Malvern where he built up a substantial building business. Recent research indicates the Pettifors came from Northampton before settling in Warwickshire. John Pettifer b.1780 was convicted of theft in 1800 at Warwick Assizes and sent to prison. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list.
